In New York City in 1913, letters addressed to Santa, ended up at the ‘dead letter office’. Once postal workers determined that a letter could definitely NOT be delivered, it was destroyed. It was very sad that these wishes went to dust, and that is where one man saw an opportunity. A man who became known as the Santa Claus Man: John Duval Gluck.
